Osaka Expo'70 Commemorative Park (Bampaku Park)

                                 

Osaka Expo'70 Commemorative Park (Bampaku park) is a large public park located about 30 minutes from city center or 1 hour from Osakako station. There are over 5,500 cherry trees in the vast park along its paths and around its large lawn areas. Visitors can also enjoy the cherry blossoms with the famous Tower of the Sun by Japanese artist Taro Okamoto. During the season, there will be a cherry blossom fesitval and light- up in the evenings.  Though the park is a bit far from the center, it's really worth going

Best time for viewing:  from late March to early April
Opening hour: from 9:30 to 17:00 (until 21:00 during the festival)
Admission fee: 250 yen
Access: 5 minutes walk from Bampaku Kinen Koen station on Osaka Monorail (approx. 1 hour from Oskako station).
